The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Favaro, reaffirmed the support of the government of Brazil and the National Bank for Social Economic Development (BNDES) to the agricultural sector during an event with rural producers in Mato Grosso. The minister pointed out that since the new president of BNDES was appointed, R$ 2.9 billion in credits for agriculture were unlocked.

Credit lines for the agricultural sector

The credit lines for the agricultural sector provided by BNDES were reopened in January 2023 as one of the first measures of the government of Brazil. They were suspended since October last year, causing a high demand by producers and their cooperatives. During the event, the minister recalled that the desire for these credits was so great that in a few days the amounts released were almost fully consumed.

Government Support

During the event, the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock stated that the government of Brazil is providing more resources to continue investing and bringing opportunities to the agricultural sector.“We are providing more resources to continue investing and bringing opportunities to agril”, said Carlos Favaro.
