The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) has just launched the digital book “Dialogues for Prevention of Avian Influenza”, which is part of the “Influenza Avia campaign? Not here!” The e-book aggregates videos, voice messages, text messages and infographics, and allows its content to be replicated on social media, electronic messaging applications or even print. This teaching tool aims to help in the effort to prevent avian influenza in Brazil.
Brazil leads the world export of chicken meat and accounts for 35% of this market. It is also the sixth largest egg producer. Therefore, the country redoubles surveillance to prevent the arrival of the disease. The book becomes an essential piece of health education for the public, since it employs social networks and electronic messaging applications to bring knowledge to people who work and live in the field. The teaching-learning methodology “Dialogues in rural territories” is suggested for the introduction and work of the theme.
The content of the book consists of three parts. The first contains introductory chapters with basic information on the subject. The second presents the teaching-learning methodology. Finally, the third part brings the scripts of voice messages, text, posters, infographics and videos. It is still possible to access it on the Map website and in the National Program of Health Education in Agricultural Defense. This book is the fifth of the series 'Dialogues” released by the Map in the last two years.
