The 24th meeting of the Thematic Chamber of Credit, Insurance and Commercialization of Agribusiness (Credseg) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) was held to help identify opportunities, bottlenecks and regulatory needs within the agricultural sector.

At the meeting, special advisor to Mapa, Carlos Ernesto Augustin, addressed the work that has been done in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to promote more sustainable production. Interested producers can apply for credits, according to recommended socio-environmental practices.

Mapa works with Credseg to provide security in the decision-making of the public agent. Any policies related to credit, insurance and commercialization that can be implemented are discussed in meetings to listen to the partner sectors in advance, thus complying with the provisions of the Constitution.

Thiago Rocha, President of the Chamber of Credit, Insurance and Commercialization, said that the technical scope of his organization is essential to provide support to the initiatives of the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy of Mapa.

The chamber is composed of representatives from the public and private sectors related to agricultural financing and rural credit.
