Due to the drought that affects Rio Grande do Sul, the Federal Government authorized the release of R $ 430 million. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva discussed the measure with ministers at the Alvorada Palace on Tuesday (22).
The resources will be directed to agriculture, social development and civil protection, according to the proposals of mayors, parliamentarians, councilors and representatives of rural workers to deal with the water crisis in Rio Grande do Sul. At the meeting held by the State Government, these requirements were evaluated and the emergency measures necessary to address the problem were discussed.
Tomorrow (23), a team of ministers goes to the state to analyze the damage caused by the drought. More than 300 cities in the Southern Region of Brazil are in an official emergency, and almost 200 of them have already been officially recognized.
During its trip to the region, the government must announce measures to help those affected by the drought. Among these, emergency credit lines for small and medium producers may be included. Not long ago, a Gaucho delegation went to Brasilia to seek help for its state.

Ministers Paulo Teixeira (Agriculture Development and Family Agriculture), Carlos Favaro (Agriculture and Livestock), Wellington Dias (Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Fighting) and Paulo Pimenta (Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic) will also be part of it, as well as Edgar Pretto, president of the National Supply Company (Conab).
